Rasa Animal Shelter is a NGO with the goal of rescuing street animals near Tehran.
Especially the ones that are injured, abandoned or tortured and would otherwise not have had a chance to survive.
The founder and administrator is Mr. Yashar Asadi.
The shelter was opened in
spring 2013 and is now a home to several hundreds rescued dogs, goats, donkeys, birds and many more.
Rasa is funded only by private donations.
It is an
independent foundation that is fully committed to the well being of animals
and the environment.

We care for more than 30 dogs with special needs.
Most of them need special food, medical care and a lot of attention
every day.
Apart from that some need to go to the vet often, which unfortunately costs a lot of money.
Unfortunately many puppies are being separated from their mothers and thrown away or left at the door of the shelter.
Even though raising the puppies takes a lot of time, effort and money, it is our mission to take care of these angels.
